How i upgraded to a programmer job without a degree🤘

Hi! I wanted to make this small article to help others who wants to start programming. Its not a “how to” article but more a inspiratonal “you can do it too” article.

I started in my current job way back in 2007 as an intern. I did no programming. My job was in IT support.
The great thing about beeing in the it business before you start to program is that maybe you get a better view of the whole industry. I worked support, courses and trained new staff.

But how did i go from IT support to programming?

I have loved programming the last 10 years but just as a hobby. I could make some small sites with HTML CSS and JS. I started to really like Javascript and did alot of of fun things with it (Node, Angular ++). I was so jealous of my friends that was hired as software developers at different companies. They had put in the work to get a degree.

So what did i do? I asked my boss: “I really like programming..that is what i want to do. Is there any way for me to do that here?” And you know what? SURE! I got coupled with another developer in my org..started learning from him..now 2 years later i work as a developer!🚀

The moral of the story is…sometimes..all you have to do is ask. And find someone to help you.
